Bradley Reedy and Landon Gillespie knocked down four 3-pointers apiece for Ripon, which needed every one of them to sneak away from Riverbank with a 54-52 victory.

The Indians (2-0 Trans-Valley League, 5-11 overall) were ahead 45-35 after three quarters, but Riverbank (1-1, 8-9) scored the first 10 points of the fourth to tie it up.

Back-to-back buckets from Reedy and Jack Schoolland pushed Ripon back ahead 51-47, and the visiting squad held on from there.

“Typical game with Riverbank,” Ripon coach Justin Graham said. “One of those where you have to scratch, claw, fight and do whatever you can to get a basket. Ultra-competitive, super-fun game. It’s always a tough place to play, and we’re really happy to come out on top.”

Reedy led the charge with 18 points, making four of his five 3s while hitting 7-of-9 overall from the field. Gillespie finished with 16 points. Ty Herrin contributed seven points and six rebounds. Marcus Madowski also had seven points to go with nine rebounds, five steals and a block.

Ripon has two home games next week against Escalon and Hughson, respectively.
