Ripon's girls golf team posted the top score among Valley Oak League competitors Monday at Oakdale Golf & Country Club.
All 10 schools in the VOL were represented. The course's availability has been limited to host school Oakdale, which used Monday's results to cover much of its home matches for the season.
Ripon showed well against the reigning VOL champion despite the wet and windy conditions, outshooting the Mustangs, 232-244. The Indians also made up a match against Central Catholic, which was disqualified from team scoring for fielding only four players.
Ripon is the reigning champion from the Valley Foothill League North Division but has joined the VOL for this school year. The Indians were led by Gabby Ilardi, whose card included back-to-back birdies on holes 6 and 7 en route to a 40. Zoe Bremer added a 41, and Katie Martin a 48.
Sierra also had a successful day, going 3-1 with a 274 score in its matchups. The loss was to Oakdale, with victories over Kimball (305), Ripon Christian (339) and Weston Ranch (forfeit). Mikaella Manto paced the Timberwolves with a 35. Jenna Villanueva contributed a solid 49, and Julia Erdman chipped in with a 52.
