Reagan Vander Hoek compiled 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Maddie Yonker posted a triple-double to spearhead Ripon Christian’s girls basketball team to a 51-39 Trans-Valley League win at Hilmar.
Vander Hoek also made nine of 10 free throws and had four steals. The Knights (2-2, 10-7 overall) finished 18 of 24 from the line as a team.
Yonker packed her stat line with 15 points, 15 rebounds, 10 steals, six assists and two blocks. Kara Kessler contributed eight points, and Lacy Nydam pulled down seven boards to go with her four points.
Defense ultimately helped Ripon Christian (2-2 TVL, 10-7 overall) gain separation. After trailing 20-15 at the end of the first quarter, the Knights held Hilmar (1-3, 9-7) to just four points in the second and two in the fourth.
Ripon Christian hosts second-place Riverbank on Thursday and heads to rival Ripon on Friday.
Hughson 57, Ripon 47
The host Huskies (3-1 TVL, 12-7 overall) broke it open with a 21-8 third quarter. Kareena Kang scored 13 of her 17 points in the period. Madi Duran also netted 17 points for Hughson.
Shayla McKeon led Ripon (1-3, 7-11) with 10 points, and Kailee Inderbitzin added nine.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Ripon Christian 61, Hilmar 33
The Knights (3-1 TVL, 13-6 overall) jumped out to a 24-6 lead and coasted to victory ahead of their challenging end to the week.
Jake Vander Veen tallied a game-high 17 points along with five rebounds and four assists. Jace Beidleman produced 15 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. Luke Crivello pitched in eight points (two 3s), three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Ripon Christian faces Riverbank on the road Thursday before welcoming league-leading Ripon on Friday.
Dylan DeCosta paced Hilmar (0-4, 5-15) with 11 points.
Ripon 76, Hughson 50
Host Ripon (5-0 TVL, 16-5 overall) put it away with a 29-9 third quarter.
Ten different Indians contributed with points. Marcus Madoski led them with 17 points. Jack Schoolland collected 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Dawson Downs chipped in 12 points and seven boards.
Landon Gillespie added 11 points, four assists and three steals. Ty Herrin had eight points, three rebounds and three assists.
JC Lupercio scored 11 points for the visiting Huskies (1-4, 8-10).
GIRLS SOCCER
Ripon Christian 5, Gustine 0
Dayna Koolhaas registered a second-half hat trick, while Addison DeJong had a brace in the Southern Athletic League blowout at RC.
Brooke Barnes, Anneka Dyt and Tatum Sonke assisted Koolhaas’ goals. DeJong scored on set pieces, first with a long-distance direct kick in the opening half. She completed the brace with a second-half penalty kick.
The Knights (5-1-1, 13-3-1 overall) previously tied Gustine (4-3-1, 6-8-1), 2-2.
JV girls basketball
Mountain House 38, Lathrop 24
Turnovers doomed the Spartans in the road defeat, and Mountain House was able to turn them into a game-changing 18-2 third quarter.
Zoha Ali led Lathrop with 12 points and seven rebounds. Jocelyn Rios contributed eight rebounds, and Tatianna Lopez had four points and six steals.
Ripon 30, Hughson 19
Scarlett Ponce torched the visiting Huskies for 16 points, while McKenzie Spear added six points and nine rebounds for Ripon.
Frosh girls basketball
Mountain House 44, Lathrop 27
Hazel Beltran led visiting Lathrop with seven points. Aaliyah Thompson and Laniyah Stroud-Prince added six apiece.
Ripon 27, Hughson 22
Harasees Hayer paced the victorious Indians with 12 points, and Olivia Phelps made two 3s and scored eight points.

Estaven Vargas netted 17 points for the Buffaloes, and Manual Lopez added nine.
