Sacramento State senior Julie Shutler was named Golfer of the Week by the Big Sky Conference Thursday.

The former Sierra High standout led the Hornets to a sixth-place finish in the Fresno State Lexus Classic at Copper Ridge Golf Club. Individually, she placed fifth after shooting 75-70-78-223 for the third best 54-hole score of her career. Shutler’s 2-under-par 70 is her second best single-round score.

It was Shutler’s second straight top-five finish after she took fourth in the Folino Invitational at Oak Creek Golf Course in Irvine Feb. 21.

Sacramento State — the conference favorite according to the Big Sky coaches poll — will next compete in ithe Anteater Invitational March 26 in Dove Canyon.
