Jadyn Shinn isn’t done racking up awards despite graduating from Sierra High two weeks ago.
The Timberwolves’ all-time leading scorer for girls soccer has been named to the USA Today All-USA first team. The list, compiled by Sheldon Shealer of TopDrawerSoccer.com, was released Wednesday.
“I am super honored and surprised to have received this award,” Shinn said. “I’m thankful for everyone who has helped me get to this point in my life.”
Shinn is a three-time selection for the Manteca Bulletin All-Area MVP award. This past season she shared the distinction with Lathrop junior Kassandra Ceja, a longtime friend of Shinn who tied for the state lead with 61 goals scored.
Shinn accumulated 47 goals and 23 assists in her senior season, leading Sierra to a 28-3-2 record, third straight Valley Oak League title, Sac-Joaquin Section Division III title and its first CIF Northern California Regional Championships appearance. She finished her outstanding four-year career with a school-record 155 goals and 73 assists.
Headed for Cal, where she will play as a defensive midfielder, Shinn is ranked as the No. 40 prospect in the Class of 2019 IMG Academy 150, according to the USA Today feature.
Isabella D’Aquila of JSerra in San Juan Capistrano is the All-USA Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
