Sierra outshoots visiting Sonora

Sierra’s Vanessa Rodriguez was the medalist during Thursday’s 246-274 Valley Oak League victory over Sonora at the Manteca Parks Golf Course.

Rodriguez carded a 7-over 44 as Sierra improved to 8-2 and moved into second place in the VOL standings.

Sonora (7-2) was led by Tallon Popovich’s 45 and Emma Holloway’s 54.

Lexus Barnes tallied a 47 and McKenna Doyle carded a 50. Kayla Wilson’s 52 and Krystal Rayevich’s 53 rounded out the T’Wolves’ total.

Sierra’s next match is scheduled for Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against first-place East Union.
