Snaer, Hurtado take 1st during section meet

 FOLSOM – East Union’s Jadyn Snaer and Sierra’s Jesse Hurtado finished first overall Friday in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II-III Track and Field Championships at Vista del Lago High School and are headed for the CIF Masters Championships Thursday at Elk Grove High.
 Although the Valley Oak League competed in the Division III portion of the meet, their marks were combined with the marks from Division II and the Top 7 qualified for Masters.
 Snaer was first overall in the 100-meter dash (12.16) as was Hurtado in the 800 (1:58.41). Sierra’s Nicholas Stanley was second overall (first Division III) in the 300 hurdles (39.54).
 Sierra’s Miranda Miller was second in the Division III triple jump (39 feet, 6 ½ inches) and that was better than the top Division II mark, so she was second overall. The same went for Timberwolves teammates Dulce Cruz’s fourth-place finish in the discus (107-4) and Perla Valdovinos’ fifth-place finish in the discus (103-0), as both their marks bested first place in Division II.  
 East Union’s Julia Vezaldenos was fifth overall (second D III) in the 300 hurdles (47.40) an lancers teammate Alexis Surnip was fifth overall (fourth DIII) in the triple jump (35-5). Finishing sixth overall from Sierra: Stanley (110 hurdles, 15.39, second D III), Jasmin Correa (200, 25.71, fourth D III); from Lathrop: Michael Ramos (300 hurdles, 40.38, third D III).  
  Sierra’s Megan Oblin was seventh (third D III) in the 1600 (5:14.10)
 In the 4x400 relays, Sierra’s girls (Correa, Jeida Lavender, Raiann Prieto,  Julia Recker) were fifth overall (second D III) in 4:02.65 and the Timberwolves boys (Hurtado, Stanley, Jerardo Salcedo and David Correa) were third overall (sixth D III) in 3:26.89.
 The East Union girls 4x100 relay (Snaer, Nicole Robertson, Alexus Sirnup, Mikayla Sirnup) were seventh overall (fourth D III) in 46.65.  
 On Wednesday, Miller was third overall and in D III in the long jump (17-11 ½), Timberwolves teammate Citlali Chavez was seventh overall (fourth D III) in the girls shot put (33-9)and East Union’s Jaysen Reindel was sixth overall (third d III) in the discus (136-5).
