RIPON — Ripon’s girls golf team put together another solid round, but first-place Escalon prevailed 156-168 in a Valley Foothill League North Division match held at Jack Tone Golf Course on Thursday.

“We played well against a tough team,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said. “We are a young team and gaining experience. We are getting better, but it is a process.”

Ripon (2-3) is coming off its first two wins of the season and a respectable showing in the VFL North Mid-Season Tournament. The Indians went undefeated in league last year but have since reloaded with younger players.

Myra Toledo finished with a 40 to lead Ripon on Thursday. Kassidy Isham added a 41, Bianca Toledo a 43 and Emily Harris a 44.

Escalon’s Madison Kindberg was low medalist with a 1-over-par 33. Fellow Cougar Mary Adams took second with a 38.
