CLOVIS — Meghan Tolman finished in 34th place in the 100-yard breaststroke Friday during the 5th annual CIF State Swimming & Diving Championships held at Clovis Olympic Swim Complex.
The Sierra High junior ended with a time of 1 minute, 5.47 seconds. Last week, she clocked a new school record of 1:04.68 for third place in the Sac-Joaquin Section finals. She is the first female from the Manteca area to compete in the state meet.
Zoie Hartman, representing Monte Vista of Danville, was the top finals qualifier in the event in 1:00.25. She’s one of three to earn an All-American automatic time — set at 1:02.60 — and is joined by second-seeded Ana Izab Adame (1:01.76) of Valencia and Melanie Julia (1:02.07) of Gunn.
SJS breaststroke champion Natalie Bercutt of Davis (1:03.96) took 19th and narrowly missed a spot as an alternate in the consolation finals. The swim finals begin today at 2:30 p.m. with the girls 200 medley relay.
