T-wolves pounce in 2nd half for frosh win

Highlighted by three long Jacob Allen scoring runs, visiting Sierra put up four second-half touchdowns Thursday to come from behind and beat Ripon 28-7 in non-league freshman football action at Stouffer Field. 

 The Indians got on the board late in the first half on an 80-yard touchdown run by Landon Stevens for a 7-0 halftime lead.

 Adrian Ochoa recovered a fumble early in the second half for the Timberwolves to set up his own 15-yard scoring run and a 7-7 tie. Allen then broke off touchdown runs of 55, 80 and 82 yards with his 80-yard score early in the fourth period set up by a Jacob Lopez interception.

Vince Guilian led Ripon with 94 yards on 13 carries. 

 

Valley Christian-San Jose 48, Manteca 0

SAN JOSE – The Warriors put up 20 points in the third quarter to break the game open.

Krys Charles, Victor Martinez, Jonathon Aranda, Javier Flores and Aiden Nicolas contributed on offense for the Buffaloes. 

Nicolas, Victor Martinez and Krys Charles led Manteca with 5 tackles each. 

East Union 28,

River City-

West Sacramento 0

WEST SACRAMENTO – The Lancers offensive line of Cathan Sharp, Frank Alvarez, David Alvarado Jr., Erick Miramontes, Fernando Ambriz dominated the Raiders and led the way for nearly 300 East Union rushing yards.

Anthony Corrales had 10 carries for 102 yards with touchdown runs of 1 yard and 20 yards. Lane Cefalu (11 carries, 53 yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run and Jonathan Castaneda (eight carries, 48 yards) scored from 5 yards out. Ryland Toves had five carries for 77 yards.

Fernando Duran led the Lancers defense with 10 tackles including the one that preserved the shutout on fourth and goal for River City from the East Union 2-yard line. Justin Mount added six tackles, Christian Perez three and Ryland Toves blocked a punt.
