Victorious Elite Allstars closed its competition cheer season with a bang.

VEA captured eight national titles at the American Showcase Nationals in Anaheim in April.

“Our athletes are constantly amazing us with their hard work and dedication to their sport,” head coach and owner Amy Acaya said. “Eight national titles to finish off their season is a great victory for these individuals and very well deserved.”

VEA won national titles in Solo, Duo and Trio categories, receiving commemorative jackets, medals and banners. Those competing for VEA in those categories were: Madison Rowan, Skylar Brown, Michaela Rutland, Sonnette Anderson, Mercedes Kutch, Mercedes Corral, Kiana Jutch and Scarlette Anderson.

The locally-based cheerleading team also received honors in the Mini, Youth and Senior divisions.

As one seasons ends, another begins for the 10-year-old business.

Tryouts for the competitive cheer program are Monday and Tuesday, May 12-13, and there are two time slots. For children ages 5-8, the tryout will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. For those 9 to 18, the tryout is 6 to 7 p.m.

VEA requires no prior experience and has a team for just about everyone – girls, boys, children as young as 2 and adults. In addition, it offers a special-needs team that has regular practices and competitions. Its programs extend beyond cheerleading, too, offering tumbling, kenpo karate, eskrima martial arts, custom choreography, cheer camps, gym rental and space for birthday parties.

VEA will offer free clinics from May 19-21 and May 26-28 for stunting, flexibility, jumps and dance. All ages are welcome.
