Things remained relatively close in the Valley Oak League swim meet between East Union and Sierra highs Friday in girls action, but stellar performances from Christina Ngo and Kara Hall helped the Timberwolves pull out the 99-71 win at East Union.
Ngo swam to victory in the 100 and 50-free races, taking them in 1:02 and: 28.05, respectively. Sierra also got another strong performance from Hall who won a host of events, including the 200 individual medley in 2:33.32.
The Lancers saw Amanda Sokolowski provide a strong showing, winning the 200-free for East Union. Teammate Julia DeGroot dominated the field in her 500-free win.
East Union’s boys team did not fare as well as the girls, falling to Sierra 102-68 in their home pool. David Hudson was able to swim to two first places, while teammate Frank Ciccarelli took down first place in the 100-fly.
Sierra was led by Tim Cornish’s wins in the 50 and 100-free, while Matt Elliot was victorious in the 200-free with a time of 2:12.13. Vicente Castro won the 100-breast in 1:18 for the Timberwolves.
