Bogey golf was good enough for Nathaniel Livingston to be low medalist, and he led Sierra past inexperienced Manteca 259-301 in a Valley Oak League match held at Manteca Park Golf Course on Monday.

Livingston shot 9-over 46 on the front nine. Sierra’s Evan Brazell took second with a 50, Jackie Thai was third with a 51 and David Perry fourth with a 52. Daniel Simon rounded out scoring for the Timberwolves with a 60.

Manteca, playing its first match of the season, fielded just five players — four of them with no prior experience including three freshmen.

“Boyd did a good job for their first competitive match,” Manteca coach David Fontanilla said.

Senior Ruben Hurtado led the Buffaloes with a 53. Austin Bruch (59), Michael Reed (60), Adrian Gonzales (61) and Marc Buenrostro (68)

Sierra next hosts Weston Ranch on Wednesday, and Manteca travels to Oakdale on Thursday.
