Three area schools were represented in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Tournament at Roseville’s Johnson Ranch Racquet Club on Thursday.

The Valley Oak League’s top singles and doubles were one and done.

Seniors Delarine Barut and Danica Ramos, Weston Ranch’s first VOL doubles champions, were eliminated by Yuba City’s Kristen Kent and Kendell Cheim, 2-6, 2-6.

“They were definitely well coached and very good,” Weston Ranch coach Ron Bylow said. “The girls played hard but not to their normal potential. I wasn’t sure if it was nerves and all that, but just the experience is great enough for them. We stuck around for a while and watched some great tennis.”

Sierra senior Anna Cardenas drew Anna Ditler of Pioneer and lost, 2-6, 1-6. Manteca’s runner-up doubles team of Fechi Nkwocha and Allison Rachels were matched with the No. 2 tandem. Their result was not reported as of press time.
