Weston Ranch completed a highly-successful run in the popular NorCal Classic Saturday, finishing 3-1 with a second-place finish in the Gold Bracket at Tracy Sports Complex.

After scoring two-run wins over Central Catholic and Castilleja (Palo Alto) on Friday, the Cougars (11-6) capped the ninth-year tournament against familiar foes. First was a 3-1 semifinal win over Ripon. In the championship, they were downed 2-1 by Valley Oak League rival Oakdale.

Batterymates Arianna Hernandez and Naomi Thurman were named to the all-tournament team along with center fielder Mia Thurman. Hernandez was 4 for 9 with four RBIs while pitching every inning of the tournament for Weston Ranch. Naomi Thurman finished 4 for 6 and plated a run in each game, totaling six.
