Lemays hat trick paces Kickers

Alivia Lemay recorded a hat trick, and Kristyna Valdez added a goal and an assist to lead the under-14 girls Kickers to a 5-0 shutout of the Strikers in Manteca Area Soccer League action Saturday at Woodward Park.

Brittany Corona also scored for the Kickers and was assisted by Victoria Vezaldenos.

Carly Thissen, Kylee Fleckenstein, Bryanna Martin and Brittany Arona excelled on the defensive end to record the clean sheet.

Shooters 3, Blizzards 1
The Shooters had three different players score.

Angelique Galvan struck first for the Shooters and was followed by Meghan Wallace and defender Mayde Bejar. Adriana Baldibia-Behar played well at goal, and Victorianna Rangel stepped up on the back line.

Alicia Patton was responsible for the Blizzards’ lone goal. First-half keeper Alex Tolman racked up eight saves, and Kaitlyn McGriff finished with two.

Under-12
GIRLS

Arsenal 6, Strikers 3
Marissa King scored the first of her three goals within the first minute of the match, but her hat trick wouldn’t be enough for the Strikers to upset the undefeated Arsenal.

Carolina Ortega, Adriana Cruz and Savannah Verschuur were standouts on the defensive end.

Fury 1, Spirit 1
Juliana Penera and Neena Umpad struck together nice passes to assist Morgan Gross’ goal and put the Fury ahead in the second half, but the Spirit snuck in a goal in the final minute to tie it.

Tessa Peterson played well in the midfield, offering support for the attacking and defending lines. Kareena Escartin finished with six saves.

BOYS

Crushers 4, Aguilas 3
Matthew Higginson’s two goals led the way for the Crushers, and Trevor Baum and Brendan Chapman added one apiece. Everardo Velasquez and Justin Ruiz chipped in assists.

Bryan Telles made key saves at goal and was aided by defenders Richardo Pimentel, Tyler Holmes and Enrique Mendoza.

Under-10
BOYS

Scorpions 8, Chivas USA 4
Aron Navarratte and Juan Mata highlighted the shootout with three goals apiece. Kyle Dorland and Esteban Castro contributed a goal each.
Joshua Craighead, Cody Niford, Isaias Mata and Manuel Echeverria helped goalie Kyle Rachels keep the damage to a minimum. Rachels also assisted Matas’ first goal with an end-to-end goal kick.

Leonardo Hurtado and Leonardo Morales keyed the Scorpions’ victory with their energy.

Red Bulls 4, The Fury 1

Anthony Cavazos scored one goal and assisted another to lead the Red Bulls. Noah Valdez and Joey Barbuscia each had a goal.
Kyle Wingart and David Farfan anchored the dominant effort with solid play at midfield.

Timberwolves 5, Bolts 1
Michael Absher booted in the Bolts’ only goal. Joseph Lomeli had a busy day in the goal box, where he racked up 15 saves. Basem Monstafa added two.

GIRLS

Rockets 5, Mustangs 1
Taysha McGuire fired three goals to lead the Rockets, and Madison Burch and Gweneth Berry each pumped in one.

McKenna Pamlin and Noelle Smith combined their efforts at goal, and Brittney Martin played excellent defense.

Under-8
GIRLS

Teenie Wahines 4, Chiva Girls 2
Kaley Miller scored twice, and Annabella Castro punched in another for the Teenie Wahines, who were aided by an own goal.

Xitali Magana, Arianna Solano and Kaley Miller played well as goalies.
