MODESTO (AP) — Kyle Lewis hit a two-run home run and had three hits, driving in three as the Modesto Nuts defeated the Stockton Ports 11-5 on Thursday.
Modesto took the lead in the first when it crossed the plate for four runs, including a two-run single by Joe Rizzo.
After the teams traded runs in the second, the Ports cut into the deficit in the third inning when Seth Brown hit a two-run home run.
Seth Frankoff (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Stockton starter Brandon Bailey (2-2) took the loss in the California League game.
Skye Bolt homered and singled three times, scoring three runs for the Ports. Brown homered and doubled, driving home three runs.
