Northgate Bisons take two from Timber Rattlers

The Northgate Little League Minor Division bisons swept the Timber Rattlers in two games last week at Neil Hafley School, winning 7-0 on Wednesday and 14-3 Saturday.

In Wednesday’s contest, the Bisons blew open a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Eric Nascimento belted home two runs with a triple after Jacob Frisk and Brayden Hardcastle each roped an RBI single.

Haile Sims contributed two RBIs in the victory, and Vinny Mejia had an RBI triple to cap the final score in the fifth frame.

Mejia highlighted the Saturday game with a third-inning, two-run bomb that broke a 3-3 tie. Ernesto Rulon blasted his own two-run homer in the fifth, while Tyler Kiser added a two-run triple in the fourth.

Timber Rattler Zach White was also in the on the home-run derby, smashing a two-run shot to knot the game at 3.

Luis Aquila finished 3 for 3 for the Bisons, adding two RBIs.

Junior Division
Manteca Bisons 16, Weston Ranch Storm 6
Michael Garibay pitched five innings and struck out seven to lead Manteca’s season-opening victory. Douglas Mahan drove in three runs, while Xavier Viloria cracked two hits and plated three runs.

The Bisons broke away from a 6-6 tie with 10 unanswered runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

A’s 11, White Sox 2
Steven Rio, Stephen Halleck and Blake Gainous combined for 12 strikeouts and a four-hitter for the A’s last Saturday at Brock Elliot School.

Jacob Souza led the offensive charge with two doubles to highlight a 3-for-4 effort. Halleck was 3 for 4 with a double, and Rios 2 for 4. Francisco Sausedo drove in two runs, Joey Perrapado drove in a run with a double and Josh LeLaurin plated a pair of runs.
