Bart’s homer leads San Jose to win over Stockton Ports

STOCKTON (AP) — Joey Bart hit a three-run home run in the first inning, leading the San Jose Giants to a 10-1 win over the Stockton Ports on Monday.

The home run by Bart scored Bryce Johnson and Orlando Garcia to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.

The Ports cut into the deficit in the second inning when Jonah Bride hit a solo home run.

The Giants later scored in three additional innings to put the game away, including three runs in the sixth.

Joey Marciano (1-0) got the win with three innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Stockton starter Xavier Altamirano (0-1) took the loss in the California League game.
