MODESTO  (AP) — Reid Humphreys got Gareth Morgan to hit into a double play in the ninth inning, leading the Lancaster JetHawks to a 3-2 win over the Modesto Nuts on Monday.

The double play came with a runner on first and helped to prevent the Nuts from scoring in the inning.

Modesto started the scoring in the first inning when Kyle Lewis hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Joe Rizzo.

After tying the game in the fourth, the JetHawks took the lead for good in the seventh inning when Alan Trejo singled to bring home Tyler Nevin.

Starter Rico Garcia (7-7) got the win while Anthony McIver (0-2) took the loss in relief in the California League game.

Lancaster improved to 4-1 against Modesto this season.
