GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored on a power play, Darcy Kuemper got a shutout in just his fifth start for Arizona and the Coyotes beat the Vancouver Canucks for the second time four days, 1-0 on Sunday night.

Kuemper, in his fourth straight start for the injured Antti Ranta since being acquired Feb. 21 from Los Angeles, stopped 26 shots in his 11th career shutout. His previous shutout was Feb. 3 for the Kings against the Coyotes.

Kuemper had 24 saves in the Coyotes’ 2-1 win at Vancouver on Wednesday in his Arizona debut.

Although long out of the playoff picture, Arizona rebounded from a 5-2 loss at Colorado the previous night and improved to 10-3-2 in its last 15 games. Vancouver lost its third straight and is 4-10-3 in its last 17.

Penguins 3, Stars 1

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Evgeni Malkin is in the midst of a scoring race, while the Pittsburgh Penguins compete for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. Teammate Jamie Oleksiak helped the cause with a goal against his former team.

Malkin and Oleksiak both scored to help the Penguins beat the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Sunday night.

Islanders 5, Flames 2

Gibson makes 50 saves, Islanders beat Flames 5-2 to end skid

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Christopher Gibson refused to take all the credit after leading the New York Islanders to a much-needed win.

The rookie goalie made 50 saves as the Islanders beat the Calgary Flames 5-2 to snap an eight-game losing streak.

Blackhawks 3, Bruins 1

CHICAGO (AP) — Patrick Kane scored a tie-breaking power-play goal with 3:16 left in the third period and had an assist, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Kane scored on a screened shot from just inside the left point to put Chicago ahead 2-1 with Boston’s Zdeno Chara off for high-sticking Brandon Saad, getting a double-minor for drawing blood. Brent Seabrook added a goal from the right circle on a screened shot with 1:05 remaining as the Blackhawks ended Boston’s six-game winning streak and their own two-game slide.
