The New England Patriots acquired nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga from the Philadelphia Eagles along with a sixth-round pick in 2014 for a fifth-rounder next year.
Sopoaga, who spent his first nine seasons with San Francisco, had signed an $11 million, three-year deal as a free agent. The 32-yar-old Sopoaga helps replace Pro Bowl nose tackle Vince Wilfork, who is out for the season.
Foles cleared to play
Nick Foles returned to practice for the first time since sustaining a concussion in Philadelphia’s 17-3 loss to Dallas on Oct. 20. With Michael Vick sidelined, Foles will likely start for the Eagles (3-5) at Oakland (3-4) this week unless he has a setback in his recovery.
