Garcia’s homer leads River Cats to win over Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Aramis Garcia hit a three-run home run in the first inning, leading the Sacramento River Cats to an 8-2 win over the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday.

The home run by Garcia scored Mac Williamson and Michael Reed to give the River Cats a 3-0 lead.

The River Cats later added two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two in the seventh to secure the victory.

Sacramento right-hander Enderson Franco (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one run on just four hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Tommy Milone (1-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings.

With the win, Sacramento improved to 6-1 against Tacoma this season.
