Gio Brusa powers SJ Giants past Modesto

 MODESTO (AP) — Gio Brusa hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the San Jose Giants beat the Modesto Nuts 6-4 on Friday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Giants.
Connor Overton struck Nick Zammarelli out with a runner on first to end the game for his first save of the season.
Down 1-0, the Giants took the lead for good in the second inning when Brusa homered to bring home Jacob Heyward.
The Giants later added three runs in the third and one in the seventh. In the third, Kelvin Beltre drove in two runs and Wander Franco drove in one, while Jalen Miller hit an RBI single in the seventh.
San Jose starter Melvin Adon (2-3) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and five hits over five innings. Opposing starter Randy Bell (2-4) took the loss in the California League game after giving up five runs and four hits over six innings.
