Hutchison, Jimenez lead Nuts to win over Ports

MODESTO (AP) — Anthony Jimenez hit a three-run home run and had two hits, and Austin Hutchison allowed just four hits over 8 1/3 innings as the Modesto Nuts beat the Stockton Ports 4-2 on Wednesday.

Jeffeson Medina got Brett Siddall to fly out with a runner on second to end the game for his first save of the season.

Hutchison (2-3) allowed two runs while striking out seven and walking one to pick up the win.

Modesto went up 4-0 in the fifth after Jimenez hit a three-run home run.

In the top of the ninth, Stockton saw its comeback attempt come up short after scoring two runs to cut the deficit to two on RBI doubles by Viosergy Rosa and Greg Deichmann.

Evan Manarino (3-6) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing four runs and six hits in the California League game. He also struck out three and walked three.
