Johnson’s sac fly leads Giants to win over Stockton Ports

STOCKTON (AP) — Bryce Johnson drove in Johneshwy Fargas with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, leading the San Jose Giants to a 6-4 win over the Stockton Ports on Thursday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Giants and a four-game winning streak for the Ports.

Rodolfo Martinez got Skye Bolt to fly out with a runner on first to end the game for his fourth save of the season.

The sacrifice fly by Johnson capped a two-run inning and gave the Giants a 4-3 lead after Kelvin Beltre hit an RBI single earlier in the inning.

The Giants added to their lead in the eighth when Wander Franco hit a two-run double.

Stockton saw its comeback attempt come up short after Jonah Heim scored on a ground out in the eighth inning to cut the San Jose lead to 6-4.

Carlos Sano (1-1) got the win with four innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Stockton starter Zack Erwin (5-5) took the loss in the California League game.
