MODESTO (AP) — Jorge Ona homered and had two hits, and Reggie Lawson allowed just three hits over seven innings as the Lake Elsinore Storm defeated the Modesto Nuts 9-1 on Monday.

Lawson (3-1) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked three while allowing one run.

Lake Elsinore started the scoring in the second inning when Eguy Rosario hit an RBI double to score Ona.

After Lake Elsinore added two runs in the third, the Nuts cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Joe Rizzo hit an RBI single, driving in Evan White.

The Storm later added a run in the sixth and five in the eighth to punctuate the blowout.

Reggie McClain (1-1) went six innings, allowing four runs and eight hits while striking out eight in the California League game.
