Luzardo leads Stockton to win over Modesto

MODESTO (AP) — Jesus Luzardo struck out nine hitters over five innings, leading the Stockton Ports over the Modesto Nuts in a 4-0 win on Tuesday.
Luzardo (2-1) walked one to get the win.
Stockton scored three runs in the third, including a solo home run by Edwin Diaz. The Ports scored again in the ninth inning, when Nate Mondou hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Diaz.
John Richy (0-2) went six innings, allowing three runs and four hits in the California League game. He also struck out six and walked three. Miguel Romero pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.
The Nuts were blanked for the third time this season, while the Ports’ staff recorded their third shutout of the year.
