SAN JOSE (AP) — Luke Persico had three hits and three RBI as the Stockton Ports defeated the San Jose Giants 11-1 on Wednesday.
Stockton batted around in the first inning, sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring six runs, including a bases-clearing double by Persico.
The Ports later added runs in four additional innings to put the game out of reach.
Stockton right-hander Brian Howard (6-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Conner Menez (2-4) took the loss in the California League game after giving up six runs and five hits while only recording two outs.
