Pimentel homers twice for Ports

SAN JOSE (AP) — Sandber Pimentel hit two home runs and drove in five runs, as the Stockton Ports defeated the San Jose Giants 5-0 on Tuesday.

Pimentel hit a three-run shot in the second inning and then hit a two-run homer in the fourth, both off Melvin Adon.

Stockton starter Matt Milburn (5-2) picked up the win after allowing five hits over nine scoreless innings. Opposing starter Adon (2-5) took the loss in the California League game after allowing five runs and four hits over five innings.

The Giants were held off the scoreboard for the fifth time this season, while the Ports’ staff recorded their ninth shutout of the year.
