Pimentel, Persico pave way for Ports victory

SAN JOSE (AP) — Sandber Pimentel homered and singled, scoring three runs and driving home a couple as the Stockton Ports topped the San Jose Giants 9-3 on Wednesday.

Luke Persico homered and doubled with three RBIs and a pair of runs for Stockton.

Down 2-0 in the first, San Jose cut into the lead when Jacob Heyward hit a solo home run.

The Ports added to their lead in the fourth inning when Edwin Diaz hit a two-run home run.

Matt Milburn (9-5) got the win in relief while San Jose starter Carlos Sano (4-5) took the loss in the California League game.

For the Giants, Heyward homered twice and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
