Pimentel’s homer leads Stockton to win

SAN JOSE (AP) -- Sandber Pimentel hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, leading the Stockton Ports to an 8-6 win over the San Jose Giants on Wednesday.

Angel Duno struck Jalen Miller out with a runner on second to end the game for his seventh save of the season.

The home run by Pimentel started the scoring in a four-run inning and tied the game 6-6. Later in the inning, Stockton took the lead when Dairon Blanco hit an RBI single and then added to it when Jonah Heim hit a sacrifice fly.

After Stockton put up four runs in the second inning, San Jose took a 6-4 lead behind a two-run double by Matt Winn in the fourth inning.

Ty Damron (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Nolan Riggs (2-4) took the loss in the California League game.

For the Giants, Heath Quinn homered and singled, scoring two runs.
