STOCKTON (AP) — William Toffey hit a grand slam in the first inning, leading the Stockton Ports to a 9-2 win over the Modesto Nuts on Friday.

The Ports later added a run in the fourth and four in the fifth to finish off the blowout.

Stockton southpaw Zack Erwin (6-5) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings. Opposing starter Colin Rodgers (2-3) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and eight hits over four innings.
