ALAMEDA (AP) — The only move the Oakland Raiders made was back to their old ways.

Two days after coach Dennis Allen said the time had come for Oakland to make a move during a soft stretch of their schedule, the Raiders responded with their most lopsided loss of the season.

The defense was completely overmatched by Philadelphia’s spread offense, allowing Nick Foles to tie an NFL record with seven TD passes on the first nine drives of a 49-20 loss.

The offense moved the ball effectively but struggled to score. Terrelle Pryor threw two more interceptions, giving him seven since his last touchdown pass. Now the Raiders (3-5) need to get things back on track as they prepare for two straight road games starting Sunday at the New York Giants.

“There’s no question there’s a bad taste in our mouth right now,” Allen said Monday. “But that one’s over with. That one’s done with.”

The biggest problems came on defense where the Raiders too often seemed to be out of a position or a step late trying to match up with Philadelphia’s fast-paced attack.

After going two straight games without an offensive touchdown, the Eagles had no problem scoring against the Raiders with Foles delivering one of the best performances in NFL history.

He threw for 406 yards and one more touchdown pass than incompletions (six) as he became the seventh player ever to throw seven TD passes in one game.

That came after a stretch of strong defense by Oakland, leading to praise for what had been a much-improved unit despite bringing in 10 new starters this season.

“I don’t know if we were reading our press clippings or what, but the NFL is all about what have you done for me lately and what do you do out there on Sunday,” Allen said. “If you want to be a top-notch defense you’ve got to bring it every week and we’ve got to do a better job next week.”

Rookie cornerback D.J. Hayden had a particularly rough day, getting beat for two touchdown catches by Riley Cooper and a long completion to DeSean Jackson. Hayden appeared to give up early on the first touchdown pass to Cooper, allowing him to get free in the back of the end zone for a 17-yard score.

On Philadelphia’s next offensive play, Hayden lost his footing a bit to lead to a 63-yard score. Hayden had tight coverage on Jackson’s 59-yard catch but was unable to make a play on the ball.

Hayden, the 12th overall pick in April’s draft, did not talk to the media after the game Sunday or on Monday, but Allen said he doesn’t see a need to give him a pep talk.

“There hasn’t been a corner that’s ever played the game that hasn’t ever had one of those games,” Allen said. “The great ones are able to respond to it and come back from it. We got a lot of confidence in D.J. There’s a reason why we took him where we did. He’s got a bright future in this league. He’s just learning on the job. That’s part of what happens when you play out there on the Autobahn.”
