Raptors cool off Cavs

TORONTO (AP) — Terrence Ross scored 20 points, Jonas Valanciunas had 18 and the Toronto Raptors snapped the Cleveland Cavaliers’ six-game winning streak with a 98-91 victory on Friday night.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan each had 14 points as the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors won for the fourth time in five games.

PHOENIX (AP) — Ish Smith scored a career-high 15 points, matched his career best of seven rebounds and triggered a 17-point second-quarter run that propelled Phoenix past road weary San Antonio.

Markieff Morris scored 21 points and Channing Frye 17 for Phoenix. Gerald Green and Marcus Morris added 13 apiece.

TRAIL BLAZERS 102, JAZZ 94

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Damian Lillard had 28 points and short-handed Portland came back from a third-quarter deficit to beat Utah.

Robin Lopez had 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Blazers, who avoided a season-high fourth straight loss.

Enes Kanter matched his career-high with 25 points and added 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who lost their second straight after a three-game winning streak.

CHICAGO (AP) — D.J. Augustin had 22 points and eight assists, and Chicago won its fifth consecutive game.

Rookie Tony Snell added a career-high 20 points as the Bulls put seven players in double figures. Taj Gibson had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Joakim Noah finished with 14 points, 11 boards and five assists.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Zach Randolph had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Marc Gasol added 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Memphis held on.

James Johnson added 15 for Memphis, and Mike Miller finished with 13, hitting 5 of 8 from the field. Courtney Lee scored 10 for Memphis.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Andre Drummond had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Kyle Singler made a pair of big 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter to lead Detroit.

The injury-riddled Hawks lost their eighth straight game despite shooting 17 of 20 during a 41-point second quarter. Detroit rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit.

MAVERICKS 124, 76ERS 112

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points, Shawn Marion had 22 and Dallas handed Philadelphia its 10th straight loss.

A day after dismantling the roster and trading away Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen, the Sixers had just eight players in uniform.

Thaddeus Young scored 30 and Michael Carter-Williams had 25 for Philadelphia, which has looked toward next season and beyond since training camp.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Al Jefferson had 33 points and 10 rebounds, and Charlotte won its third straight since the All-Star break.

The Bobcats overcame some shoddy free throw shooting in the final minute to win for the seventh time in the last 10 games.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Arron Afflalo had 32 points, rookie Victor Oladipo added 30 points and a career-high 14 assists, and Orlando rallied to win in double overtime.

The Magic trailed by as many as 14 points, but got 25 points and 10 assists from Oladipo after halftime to stave off the Knicks. Tobias Harris added 22 points.

Orlando snapped a three-game losing streak in its first game following the departure of Glen Davis, who had the remainder of his contract bought out earlier in the day.

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 44 points, but only 14 came after the third quarter. The Knicks’ loss ended their eight-game game win streak over the Magic. New York has last four of its last five.
