Reks triple leads Quakes to win over Nuts

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — Zach Reks hit a two-run triple in the sixth inning, leading the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes to a 2-1 win over the Modesto Nuts on Tuesday.
Andrew Istler got Garrett Kennedy to fly out with runners on first and third to end the game for his first save of the season.
The triple by Reks scored Rylan Bannon and Cody Thomas and provided all the offense for Rancho Cucamonga.
In the top of the fourth, Modesto took the lead on a single by Joe Rizzo that scored Evan White.
Starter Dean Kremer (1-1) got the win while John Richy (0-3) took the loss in relief in the California League game.
