LANCASTER (AP) — Joe Rizzo homered, doubled and singled, driving in four runs and scoring a pair as the Modesto Nuts topped the Lancaster JetHawks 13-6 on Tuesday.
Kyle Lewis tripled and singled twice with two RBIs for Modesto.
Modesto had a pair of big innings in the blowout victory, scoring four runs in the second inning and six in the sixth.
In the second, Luis Liberato hit a two-run home run, while Lewis hit a two-run single and Joe DeCarlo and Donnie Walton scored on a single, and Lewis scored on a wild pitch in the sixth.
Modesto starter Nathan Bannister (10-7) picked up the win after allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. Opposing starter Peter Lambert (10-9) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.
