Sierra 6th, Ripon 7th in in Pacific Tiger Invitational

STOCKTON – Sierra finished sixth and Ripon seventh Saturday in the boys small-school varsity 5,000 meter race in the Pacific Tiger High School Invitational at Elkhorn Golf Course.
 Axel Rios was sixth (16 minutes, 20.6 seconds) for the Timberwolves and Abrahim Alsaidi fifth (16:20.6) for the Indians. Weston Ranch was 14th with Brian Arevalo finishing seventh (16:23.4) and Jorge Machuca 21st (17:04.4).
 The Ripon girls finished sixth. Annie Wild was 15th (20:45.3), Asia Wood 22nd (2:26.9) and Sandra Castillo  25th  (21:29.8)
 In the lower-level two mile races the East Union boys won both and had a 1-2-3 sweep in each race.
 In the junior varsity race Noah Acevedo was first (11:16.4), Abel Zuniga second (11:52.1), Charlie Sanders third (11:31.1), Ruben Martinez 11th (12:04.1) and Daniel Morales 24th (12:31.6)
 Johnny Sandoval won the frosh/soph boys (10:37.5), Cooper Freeman was second (10:45.7), Alex Cuevas third (10:47.03), Evan Cooper fifth (11:03.9), Devin Petersen 11th (11:31.3) and Antonio Zavala 14th (11:40.3).
Manteca finished third in the frosh/soph boys two mile. Edgar Huerta was 12th (12:04.5), Israel Ramirez 17th (12:17.6) and Rafael Munoz 25th (12:31.9).
 Ripon finished ninth in the frosh/soph two mile and was paced by Leah Vandhorst (22nd, 14:32.1). Weston Ranch’s Janiah Basco was fifth (12:51.0) and from East Union Taylor Snaer was sixth (13:21.4) and April Duarte 12th (13:55.3)
 In the junior varsity girls two mile Ripon Christian’s Maya De Jong was fifth (14:47.7) and Adriana Arias 22nd (16:01.5); Ripon’s Natalie Mejia sixth (14:49.5) and Olivia Morris 20th (15:53.8) and East Union’s Amanda Perry 13th (15:13.3).
