LODI (AP) — Authorities say a skydiver has died after crashing against a wall next a road near the Lodi Airport.

San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Steve Pease tells KCRA-TV deputies were called to the scene at the parachute jump center at Lodi Airport Saturday.

Pease says deputies do not know if the accident was caused by a malfunctioning parachute or the operator.

He says the person hit a cinder block that wraps around a neighborhood and fell into a drainage ditch.

Pease says the FAA has been brought in to investigate.

No information about the skydiver has been released.
