SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Andrew Suarez hurled 6 1/3 scoreless innings, leading the Sacramento River Cats over the Salt Lake Bees in a 2-1 win on Sunday.
Suarez (1-1) allowed three hits while striking out three to get the win.
Sacramento went up 2-0 in the third after Zach Green hit an RBI single, bringing home Abiatal Avelino.
The Bees cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Luis Rengifo scored on a forceout.
Max Herrmann (0-1) went five innings, allowing two runs and seven hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out three and walked two.
