Cincinnati 68, No. 11 Georgetown 64

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sean Kilpatrick scored a career-high 27 points, and Cincinnati went 6 for 6 from the free throw line in the final 70 seconds Monday night to upset No. 11 Georgetown 68-64.

Kilpatrick and Dion Dixon each had four of Cincinnati’s 13 steals as the Bearcats (13-4, 3-1 Big East) forced Georgetown into 17 turnovers, matching the Hoyas’ season-high. Cincinnati has won eight of nine.

Hollis Thompson and Jason Clark scored 14 points apiece and combined to go 11 for 13 from the field for the Hoyas (13-3, 3-2), whose 59 percent shooting was undone by carelessness with the ball. Georgetown has lost two straight after an 11-game winning streak.

No. 17 Connecticut 64, West Virginia 57

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Jeremy Lamb had 25 points and eight rebounds as Connecticut overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to snap a two-game skid.

Andre Drummond added 20 points and 11 boards for UConn (13-3, 3-2  Big East). Huskies coach Jim Calhoun was coaching his first home game since serving a three-game suspension for NCAA recruiting violations.

Connecticut, which lost at Seton Hall and Rutgers last week, dropped nine spots in the Top 25 earlier in the day.

No. 13 Miami 77, Georgia Tech 65

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — Shenise Johnson loves it when Miami steals the ball, runs the floor and scores a quick layup.

It’s a formula the Hurricanes have used for plenty of success over the last two seasons.

“That’s kind of what we predicate ourselves on,” she said. “When we’re getting turnovers, getting steals and getting out in transition, it’s hard to defend that way.”

Johnson scored 24 points, Morgan Stroman added 18 with 10 rebounds and No. 13 Miami beat Georgia Tech 77-65 on Monday night.
