RIPON – Hitting hasn’t been a problem for Ripon Christian thus far this season, and Wednesday was no different as the Knights racked up nine runs on 14 hits.

But Waterford capitalized on two RC fielding errors while collecting 11 knocks of its own en route to a 11-9 road win.

Aaron Fay continued his recent hot streak, finishing 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Clayton Prins went 2 for 4 with a three-run homerun.

Steve Vander Molen went 3 for 4 with three runs scored, and slugger Matt Unruh was walked thrice.

Vander Molen (4 BB, 2 K) allowed nine runs on six hits through three innings of work and Prins (5 H, 3 K, 4 BB) closed it out with four innings of two-run ball.

RC put up a five-spot in the second and a pair in both the third and fifth innings.

The Knights (1-3) travel to Gustine Saturday.

First pitch is scheduled for noon.
