The Manteca Little League Minors Division Angels swept the A’s May 18 and 20 in the championship series to claim the crown.

The Angels, who won 6-5 in Game 1 and 8-7 in Game 2, will now move on to the District 67 Tournament of Champions in Tracy later this month.

In Game 1, Jonathan Murillo got the start and mowed down five A’s in three innings of work.

Matthew Ender spelled Murillo during a critical bases-loaded jam, and was able to get the final two outs unscathed.

The game was won for the Halos in the bottom of the fifth when Darian Day knocked home Brandon Garcia with a single.

In Game 2, the Angels won the title in impressive come-from-behind fashion.

Down 7-4 in the top of the sixth, the Angels scored four runs.

Justin Garcia drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Gino Campoitti with the eventual game-winning run.

Mitch Balmut then tossed a scoreless home half to pick up the championship win.
