Down five players, the shorthanded Fury girls of the Manteca Area Soccer League battled the stifling heat and Tuolumne’s defense at Morada Soccer Fields in under-19 action last Saturday.

Thanks to a late goal from Ivy Benson, they won 1-0 and improved to 3-0 on the season. With five minutes to go, Jennifer Hoffmann connected with Benson for the deciding goal.

Kareena Escartin was masterful at the next, coming through with 20 saves. Taylor Gray, Ruby Talavera, Kaitlynn Tarango and Nicole Castrejon keyed the defense.
