Xavier Powell tallied three touchdowns, and Cody Foster returned a fumble for a touchdown as the Ripon Knights varsity team rolled past the Big Valley Sabres 30-12 in Trans-Valley Youth Football League action.
Powell totaled 70 yards on nine carries with scoring runs of 8, 11 and 16 yards. Tallon Tameling, Chris Alfaro, and Statler Postma also ran the ball well
Joe Wallace led the Ripon defense with three sacks. Ryder Shelton blocked two conversion kicks while Easton Kechriotis and Zander Rivera each made an interception. Jacob Ramirez and Jax Booth both contributed on defense and Hudson Shank converted three of four two-point conversions.

After making five tackles on the day Ripon’s Max Neto clinched the victory with an interception.
Jack Schaapman and Jessy Vega added four tackles apiece with three each for Nathan Fletcher and Travis Maltes. Zane Thompson, Danny Widmer, Tyce Sanchez, Mason Brum, and Even Zeiher all contributed on defense.
Jessy Vega (11 carries, 75 yards) tallied touchdown runs of 7 and 19 yards for the Knights. Mason Dodson added 43 passing yards, Jack Schaapman 21 receiving yards with seven carries for 19 yards along with 22 receiving yards for Travis Maltes. Hudson Rushing and Johnathan Postma contributed on offense.

Ripon’s Hudson Postma gained 113 yards on the ground with a 26-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 in the third period.
Keagan Heuvel scored on an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter to give the Knights the lead. Tyce Thompson added 46 yards running the ball.
Fifteen different Knights made a tackle.
Brayden Camara led the Ripon defense with eight tackles and a forced fumble. Chase Rubenaker (forced fumble) added seven stops, Daniel Teicheira, Adrien Anaya and Eli Perez six, Keagan Heuvel (fumble recovery) five with four each for David Wegner and Shooter Bruns.
Junior novice
Knights 34, Sabres 6
Ripon’s Lucas Durao scored two touchdowns and ran for more than 200 yards while making 11 tackles and recovering a fumble.
Durao (10 carries, 208 yards) scored on runs of 14 and 61 yards. Nikolai Gorbunoff (five carries, 76 yards) added a 5-yard touchdown run, Eli Browne (nine carries, 56 yards) scored on a 16-yard run and Mearl Thompson added a 4-yard scoring run. Jackson Rubio contributed on offense with great blocking from Jaxson Quilantang, Logan Stirrat, Brayden Bettencourt, Keegan Lewellen, Levi Reeder, Aiden John, Cooper Roe, and Harvin Chohan.
Quilantang made five tackles for the Knights. Chase Johnson, Gorbunoff and John made four tackles apiece with contributions from Jackson Rubio, Hunter Stewart, Parker Jones, Luke Hernandez, Jaxon Muschott and Andrew Alaniz.
