STOCKTON (AP) -- Skye Bolt hit a grand slam in the third inning, leading the Stockton Ports to an 8-5 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Friday.
The grand slam by Bolt scored Eli White, Tyler Ramirez, and Sandber Pimentel to give the Ports a 7-5 lead.
The Ports tacked on another run in the fifth when Brett Siddall hit an RBI single, bringing home Pimentel.
Stockton starter Kyle Friedrichs (1-0) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and seven hits over five innings. Opposing starter Tyler Badamo (0-1) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and 11 hits over six innings. Armando Ruiz pitched two scoreless innings for his first save of the season.
