Comeback falls short for Jr. Timberwolves

The Manteca Jr. Timberwolves wrapped up regular-season Delta Youth Football League play on Sunday with a 36-32 loss to the Weston Ranch Jr. Cougars at Dino Cunial Field.

Manteca fell behind 30-12 by halftime but battled back only to run out of time with the ball on the Weston Ranch 20-yard line to end the game.

Josiah Medinas had 186 yards and two touchdowns for the Jr. Timberwolves. Michael Sucher added 74 yards with a rushing touchdown and a touchdown pass to Tarnjot Singh. Singh added 55 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown.

Manteca is the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and will face the Tracy Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 15 on Dino Cunial at 4 p.m.
