Cowboys’ air attack too much for Bulldogs

Mehtaab Bhanghu threw for three touchdowns behind 190 passing yards to lead the Manteca Cowboys potent varsity offense in a 54-0 blowout of the Ceres Bulldogs.  

Nikko Juarez posted touchdown runs of 17 and 46 yards in the Central Valley Youth Football & Cheer contest. Gabriel Lopez (117 yards receiving) made an 88-yard touchdown catch, Nikko Hisapryor had a 40-yard touchdown run, Jayden Davidson made a 30-yard touchdown catch and Tyler Pettis had a 34-yard touchdown reception.

Damien Delgadillo (fumble recovery) and Dean Sorotonis led the Manteca defense with 6 tackles apiece and Andrew Salmeron made an interception.

 

Junior varsity

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 36, Central Valley Lions 6

Manteca’s Brody Carabello scored three touchdowns.

Carabello (11 carries, 129 yards) tallied touchdown runs of 10, 11 and 25 yards. Leiland Riggleman (13 carries, 76 yards) scored on an 11-yard run and Alex Espinoza tallied a 5-yard touchdown run.

Carabello led the defense with five stops. Logan Qualls (fumble recovery) and Bide Hiatt added four tackles apiece with Brixton Ortiz and Riggleman making three stops each. Brennan McMichael chipped in on defense for the Jr. Buffaloes.

 

Cowboys 26, Bulldogs 7

Manteca spread the scoring around with four Cowboys scoring.

Elias Lopez (three carries, 55 yards) scored on a 10-yard touchdown run, Terrance Montgomery (five carries, 38 yards) added a 19-yard scoring run, Bryan Lewis (three carries, 35 yards) scored from 6 yards out and D.J. Bass (four carries, 29 yards) added a 10-yard touchdown run. Caden Miller and Logan Yagi also contributed to the offense.

Devin Cortinas led the Manteca defense with eight tackles. Jonathan Morales added six stops; Logan Yagi (forced fumble), Miller and Antonio Sanchez made four tackles each with Bass (fumble recovery), Giovanni Perry, Malriq De La Rosa, Lopez, Adrian Sena, Erian Johnson Jr., Lewis, Montgomery and Landon Sanders making three stops apiece.

 

Rookies

Bulldogs 15, Cowboys 7

Alfonso Cortez-Ruiz scored the lone Manteca touchdown.

Ka' Mari Wynne and Brayden Davis contributed to the Cowboys offense.

Davis led the Manteca defense with seven tackles. Ja'Leah Mitchell added six stops and

Joseph Bella three.

 

Jr. Buffaloes 35, Lions 6

Manteca’s Aris Masudi just missed the 100-yard mark and scored two touchdowns.

Masudi gained 98 yards on 10 carries and scored on runs of 3 and 5 yards. John Ellis (five carries, 82 yards) legged out a 70-yard touchdown run and Navi Murillo (seven carries, 58 yards) added a 4-yard touchdown run. Grayson Keller contributed to the offense.

Manoah Ellis returned an interception 25 yards for a Jr. Buffaloes touchdown and made six tackles. Ellis made eight tackles, Zechariah Angulo (interception) and Grayson Keller added four stops each with Brach Carabello and Navi Murillo chipping in three tackles apiece.

Ethan Bonderer, Franklin Archuleta, Samuel Celli Jr., Masudi, Austin Fabel and A.J. Haines all contributed on defense for Manteca.

Manteca Cowboys 30, Ceres Bulldogs 0

Mateo Gavino scored three touchdowns for the Cowboys.

Gavino gained 216 yards on 12 carries. Jayden Ontai (four carries, 56 yards) pulled in a touchdown pass from Baily Ybarra (4 of 5 passing, 57 yards) and Keith Hart Jr. added 62 yards on five carries.

Emil Covarrubias led the Manteca defense with eight tackles. Gavino and Hart Jr. added six stops, Adran Agtrap four with Jayden Ontai (fumble recovery) and Sebastian Leon making three tackles each.
