The junior varsity squad of the Manteca Cowboys won its third straight Super Bowl on Saturday.

This time, the Cowboys needed two overtime sessions in the NorCal All-American Youth Football League title game.

In the end, Manteca won 20-13 to cap their perfect 13-0 season.

Tied 13-13, Kyle Wesley put Manteca ahead with his 6-yard touchdown run. Angel Sena provided the extra point.

From there, the Cowboys defense took over highlighted by Brandon Arreola’s interception that finally sealed the deal.

Earlier, they went up 6-0 on Sena’s short run in the first quarter on a play setup by Marcus Panelo, who picked up 58 yards on the third play of the game.

Manteca missed on several scoring chances including twice in the second quarter. The Cowboys lost the ball just short of the end zone and had another drive stall at the Delta 2.

At the 1:52 mark of the fourth, the Kings tied the game at 6-6, sending the contest into the extra sessions.

In the first OT, the Cowboys scored to take a 13-6 lead. Seuseu Alofaituli punched the ball in from the 4 and Sena provided the PAT.

Delta answered right back with a touchdown and extra point, tying the game up at 13-13.

Manteca went ahead for good on Wesley’s TD in the second overtime. He finished with 7 yards on two carries but sparkled on the defense with his three interceptions and two tackles.

Sena converted on two extra point tries while scoring once and forcing a fumble. He racked up 39 yards on eight tries and completed two passes tallying 33 yards. On defense, Sena had six tackles and a pair of sacks.

Christopher Mart and Joshua Urteaga had six tackles apiece. Gabriel Francisco, Domingo Vargas (fumble recovery), Devin Young, and Alofaituli (interception, fumble recovery) each finished with five tackles.

But it was Panelo who led the team in tackles with seven. On offense, he rushed for 211 yards on 23 carries and hauled in two catches for 33 yards.
