Jags battle back to beat Oakdale

The Manteca Jaguars varsity fought back from a two-touchdown first-quarter deficit to defeat the Oakdale Stampede 39-28 in Cen-Cal action.

Miguel Sequira, Angel Garay, Jose Ceja and Gabriel Ramirez racked up a 326 rushing yards for the Jaguars with all six of their touchdowns coming on the ground. The Manteca defense give up just one score in the second half with 16 Jaguars getting one or more tackles.

 

Jr. Buffaloes 47, Falcons 13

Dezmin Ware scored three touchdowns as part of a 176-yard outing for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Ware scored from 2, 60 and 80 yards out, and Chris Ortiz (90 yards rushing) had touchdown runs of 15 and 48 yards. Tyler Ellks had a 61-yard touchdown run, and Tyler Brintley scored from 14 yards out.

Clayton Hatle led the Manteca defense with six tackles. Elmer Medina added five stops, Brintley (blocked punt) four and Ellks three.

 

Junior varsity

Jaguars 38, Mustangs 20

Dominic Rea had 145 combined yards and three touchdowns for the Jaguars.

Rea had six carries for 72 yards with two touchdowns and two catches for 73 yards with a touchdown. Darion Chavis had eight carries for 112 yards and two touchdowns with Lorenzo Ceja completing 5 of 6 passed for 114 yards with a touchdown pass to Rea and one of 36 yards to Lorenzo Contreras. Ryan Borgeson added four carries for 43 yards.

Jesse Miranda led the Manteca defense with nine tackles and a forced fumble. Ryan Borgeson (two interceptions) and Ryan Zimmerman each had seven tackles and Evan Ott and Gerardo Escobar six apiece.

 

Jr. Buffaloes 47, Falcons 0

Jacob DeJesus ground out 165 rushing yards to lead the Buffaloes’ punishing attack.

Kyle Jackson (147 yards rushing) had three touchdowns, including one on a 67-yard run. Tyler Garlets (70 yards passing) ran for one touchdown and threw two to Garrett Genilla.

Kevin Thornburg led the Manteca defense with eight tackles, Genilla had a fumble recovery and two quarterback sacks and Dylon Valentine had two touchdown-saving tackles.

 

Peewee 

Jaguars 34, Stampede 0

Quarterback Jason R. Aucello II led a hard-running Jaguars offense to their sixth win of the season.

Jamari Hodge had 98 tough rushing yards with two touchdowns for Manteca. Payton Graham had a spectacular game-sealing 58-yard touchdown run with Jesus Gomez and Kaioni Ontai each adding a touchdown.

Alfredo Ramirez, Dylan Zimmerman and Marcus Brennan led the Jaguars defense. Zane Salgado and Jesus Gomez each had six tackles and Jamari Hodge and Mark Lopez-Smith both had a fumble recovery. Anthony Avelar had three key tackles.

 

Jr. Buffaloes 14, Falcons 0

Daymari Cox and Daniel Rushing combined for 148 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Rushing (84 yards rushing) scored on a 51-yard run and Cox (64 yards) sc0red from 50 yards out.

Eduardo Lomeli had 12 tackles for Manteca, Bryan Howe five stops and Cox four.

 

Rookies

Jaguars

Isac Hashim had 145 yards on nine carries and the only touchdown for the Jaguars.

Moises Alverado (two tackles) added 56 yards on nine carries. Mathew Chavez had 10 tackles for Manteca and Vayden Hampton five for Manteca.

 

Jr. Buffaloes

Peyton Nieman ran for more than 100 yards and scored a touchdown for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Gage Pfeifer added 55 rushing yards and a touchdown and Quinn Martinez ran for 40 yards.

Anthony Nixon led the Manteca defense with seven tackles, Pfeifer had six stops and Brandon Tafoya four.
